The OpenMoko, a Linux phone with GPS is set to debut this month.

I will definitely look into getting one.

The $350 price tag is looking a lot better than the $600 tag attached to the similar Linux phone from D-Link.

The Total Number of Internet Hostnames Hits 100 Million +

A survey for November of 2006 indicates 101,435,253 hostnames are registered.  About half of these are actually active sites.  The growth curve is climbing at an exponential rate.

Microsoft partners up with Zend the makers of PHP

Apparently the new partnership will result in performance increases for PHP on Windows.

According to Andi Gutman, Zend’s co-founder and chief technology officer, “PHP has always worked on Windows. The problem is that it never performed very well.”

Microsoft’s intention is to become more competitive by making it easier for companies to run PHP on Windows systems rather than Linux.
