New Memory Technology - Nanotech Terabyte Thumb Drives

 info @ 4:22 pm

Researchers at Arizona State University are claiming that solid state memory devices (alternative to flash memory currently found in mobile phones and cameras) will be able to hold a terabyte (1000 gigabytes) of memory. Bit-for-bit the devices will be 1/10 the cost and 1000 times more energy efficient.

The new technology known as programmable metallization cell (PMC) should be commercially available in memory devices within 18 months.

I wonder how PMC technology will affect PCs.

Check it out.
